About Island View Catering

Island View Catering is a locally owned company started by three UC Santa Barbara graduates. Our executive chef began operation in 2003, while still a student; then in early 2008, he partnered with two friends from UCSB, and together they formed what they now affectionately refer to as IVC. Since our humble inception three years ago, we’ve grown 50% every year based solely on word of mouth.

Recently our food began making larger waves: we recently won a prestigious best-in-class award at the Winter Wine Down in 2009, a charity event pitting the best chefs and winemakers from restaurants, caterers, and wineries throughout the Central Coast. 

Our client base mirrors our rising success, ranging from throughout Santa Barbara and Ventura to Santa Ynez, Buelton, Santa Maria, and even as far as San Diego.

To keep up with our growth and facilitate even better service for our clients, our company recently invested in a customized, commercial grade mobile kitchen. Our investment allows us to provide you with an extremely important advantage over standard catering companies: we can literally prepare your food at your event location without the cumbersome need for local access to a kitchen. This benefit allows us to customize food to your exact specification the day of your event for any minor last minute changes to your menu; further, it allows us to prepare your food and serve it immediately, which guarantees your catered event will experience absolutely fresh cuisine within minutes of preparation – nothing previously prepared and kept warm or cold through transport!

Our unique culinary diversity and presentation – ranging from simple gourmet twists to old favorites, like macaroni and cheese, to cutting edge signatures, such as our signature passion fruit salad dressing and boysenberry, chipotle glazed tri-tip – accentuate our equally unique business model. Our decision to keep our operating structure strictly controlled by the owners of IVC allows us to offer exceptional pricing and a personal touch that only a truly owner operated company can offer. Our three owners are responsible for food preparation and quality control, personal event planning, and all administrative tasks, which eliminate the expensive accrued costs of middlemen: hired chefs, event planners and coordinators, client liaisons, sales and marketing consultants, etc. We pass these in-house cost reductions directly to our clients.
